Note From Mike and Lisa Bartels |

On Saturday evening(5-28) at about 7:30 PM our son Ryan Michael was born in Yaoundé, Cameroon. Both baby and mom are doing fine. At birth Ryan weighted 3.75 kilograms and was 55 centimeters long (that's 8 lbs 4 oz and 21.65 in. for those of you scoring in the Standard system). Maggie met him on Sunday and thinks that "he's a nice baby". Thank you all for your prayers. |

Recipe for "A Happy Marriage" |
| Take two happy people and separate them from their |
| parents. Add the following ingredients in generous |
| proportions, in which order would you list them? |
| Love | Acceptance | Respect |
| Truth | Communication | Patience |
| Faith | Kindness | Gentleness |
| Hope | Self-Control | Commitment |
| Mix together, then thoroughly sift in daily life. Strain |
| out jealousy, arrogance, selfishness, provocation. What |
| else would you strain out? Bake in the trials and |
| tribulations of life for50 years, then celebrate when golden. |

A Child's Thought |
|
A little girl was sitting on her grandfather's lap as he read her a bedtime story. From time to time, she would take her eyes off the book and reach up to touch his wrinkled cheek She was alternately stroking her own cheek then his again. Finally she said,, "Grandpa, did God make you?" "Yes, sweetheart," he answered, "God made me a long time ago." "Oh, she paused, "Grandpa, did God make me too?" 'Yes, indeed, honey, he said, "God made you just a little while ago. "Feeling their respective faces again, she said, "God is getting better at it, isn't he?" |

If I Knew |
| If I knew that a word of mine, | If I knew that the lights of a smile |
| A word not kind and true, | Might linger the whole day through |
| Might leave its trace | And brighten some heart |
| On a loved one's face, | With a heavier part, |
| I wouldn't speak harshly; | I wouldn't be without it; |
| Would you? | Would you? |
